Rena has been practicing yoga for over 15 years  and
is an E-RYT 200, RYT 500.  She received her RYT 200 with  Courtney  Butler  at  Balance  Yoga  &  Wellness ("BYW")  in  the  tradition  and  lineage  of Krishnamacharya.   With  a  heart  for  service  to  the community,  Rena  is  involved  in  many  educational, supportive,  and  healing  endeavors.  She also obtained her  advanced  300-hour  yoga  registration  with  BYW
in Therapeutically  Oriented  Yoga  Practices  and  is  a member  of  the  International  Association  of  Yoga Therapists.  Rena  is  the  owner  of  Soul Feed Yoga  in Little Rock, Arkansas and co-owns Balance Barre(R), a yoga / barre fusion.  Rena  serves  as  an  instructor  for yoga teachers at the RYS 200 and 300 levels.  Recently, she  was  honored  to  train with with Seane Corn, Amy Ippoliti,  and  Taylor  Harkness;  earn  her  Yin  Yoga teacher  certification  with  Bernie  Clark  and  Diana Batts;  and  obtain  her  Reiki  Level  1  Practitioner Certification. 
Rena's  advanced  studies  in therapeutically oriented yoga  practices  and  yin  yoga  have  cultivated quite a passion  for  teaching  students  how  to  safely  apply postures (asanas) to their individual bodies. That said, she believes yoga is much vaster than asana practice!  Rena's  classes  always  incorporate  encouragement, cues, and  gentle  suggestions  for  how  to  access and apply  the  calming,  balancing  principles  of  yoga and meditation  to  everyday  life.   She  has  taught  many different  types  of  yoga,  including yin yoga, beginner yoga, gentle yoga, prenatal, restorative, hatha, vinyasa, power yoga, hot yoga, hot detox, private individual and corporate  classes,  and  yoga   therapy*.   She  has  led intensives  and  retreats  in  Chakra-Balancing  Yoga, Detox Yoga,  Yin Yoga,  Yoga for Runners & Athletes, and  Meditation  and  Stress  Relief.
Rena is dedicated to teaching and sharing the benefits of  a  yoga  lifestyle  and  enjoys  helping  people  help themselves by opening the door to connections among mind, body, and spirit. She strives to teach others how to incorporate yoga and meditation into their daily lives to  cultivate  peace,  calm, and  balance.

*The yoga therapy components of Rena’s teaching are based on advanced studies in therapeutically oriented yoga practices, social issues (B.A., Criminology, M.A. Sociology), rapport-building, and experience working with special populations, including those with current or past trauma, addiction, grief, and/or abuse issues, not derived from her status as a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance Registry.
